CALL FOR SPEAKERS

Do you have a big idea, groundbreaking technology, or hard-won lesson you want to share? Data Universe is the global gathering of data’s pioneers, experts, and most influential voices—and we want you to join them.

We're looking for dynamic speakers who can inspire and educate. Just propose a talk before September 30, 2024 at 5PM EST. Our program advisory board will consider your proposal across all facets of the event, from speaking to mentorship.

How Our Program is Structured: The Data Universe program spans a wide range of formats: mainstage keynotes from data visionaries; deep-dive sessions delivered by industry veterans; interactive debates and discussions; and curated networking designed to help attendees make the most of their time.

Session Formats: Our program encourages speakers to share one big idea, clearly and succinctly. Our primary format is a 20-minute presentation, usually with slides. Be concise, impactful, and prepared for on-floor follow-up conversations with interested attendees.

The program also includes a limited number of more advanced, interactive sessions led by a subject matter expert. Masterclasses dive into specific topics within data science, analytics, and technology, giving attendees in-depth knowledge, practical skills, and best practices in a longer format. Confirmation Process:  We review applications as they arrive, so we recommend that you submit a proposal as early as possible, giving us more time to consider it and increasing your chances of being approved. If your proposal is confirmed, we’ll contact you no later than October 17, 2024. We may also reach out with questions or format suggestions at that time.

Cancellation:

• Please ensure that you can be in New York on April 29, April 30, and May 1; and that you’ll be available to speak on both April 30 and May 1. We’ll let you know the date and time of your talk as we build the schedule.
• While we understand that even the best-laid plans go awry, if you cancel your participation after March 31, 2025, this will negatively impact how we consider you for future events. We will of course handle each situation carefully.
• You may not substitute a speaker once confirmed. If you cancel and suggest a replacement, we will consider them alongside all other proposals we’ve received.

Submission Guidelines:  

• Put your best foot forward. We want to hear about the thing you’re obsessed with, the tech you’re passionate about, and the accomplishments you’re known for. Please propose only one session. If you propose more than one topic, we’ll only consider the first one.
• Put your best speaker on stage. To ensure a wide range of topics and perspectives, we limit the number of speakers from the same organization. We will accept a maximum of two proposals from an organization.

Pitches and Sponsored Content:  Data Universe is an industry learning and networking event. We have a strict policy against pay-to-play content. Each proposal is evaluated solely on its merits, by a content team that’s entirely separate from sponsorship.
